A must-see highlight of the Paysalia trade show, the Carré des Jardiniers has, year after year, cemented its role as a platform for showcasing talent and innovation at the heart of the landscaping industry.
In 2025, the competition once again highlighted four exceptional finalists, selected for their creativity, technical expertise, and commitment to sustainable gardens that evoke meaning and emotion.
More than just a competition, the Carré des Jardiniers serves as a true real-world laboratory, offering landscape professionals a unique platform to express their vision of the garden.
Life-size gardens at Paysalia
Set up in a real-world setting at the heart of Paysalia, at Lyon Eurexpo, the gardens created by the four finalists provided a highlight for the 41,500 trade visitors who attended the event from December 2 to 4, 2025.
Judged by a prestigious panel of landscape architecture professionals, these spaces powerfully embodied the competition’s core values: boldness, creativity, sustainability, authenticity, and collaboration.
Each garden has been designed as a living work of art, embodying both a strong identity and the ability to address today’s environmental, urban, and societal challenges. It serves as a concrete demonstration of the industry’s expertise, successfully blending aesthetic appeal with ecological performance.
Ludovic ORAIN, Master Gardener 2025 with L’ECRIN MEDITERRANEEN !
Chaired by landscape architect Jean Mus, the jury awarded the title of Master Gardener 2025 to Ludovic Orain, founder of Terranova Paysage in Perpignan, for his project “L’écrin méditerranéen.”
At age 36, Ludovic Orain has joined the very exclusive circle of Master Gardeners, crowning a career shaped by passion, experience, and entrepreneurial boldness.
His garden draws inspiration from Mediterranean landscapes to offer a practical solution to climate challenges, demonstrating that with minimal water, thoughtful plant choices, and careful design, it is possible to create spaces that are sustainable, poetic, and resilient.
« L’écrin méditerranéen » thus embodies a vision of the garden of the future, where modernity and the simplicity of life interact harmoniously, placing people and nature at the heart of the project.
